Corrvette Museum.

Whether the information was burned or not is really just speculation.
All that matters is the information isn't available... that's why finding a build sheet on the tank of 68+ cars is pleasant surprise!

By the way, it's only Bowling Green 81's, that the NCM has window stickers and build sheets for, not the 81's built in St Louis.
GM does have some records for Corvettes built between 76 and 81. I know a couple people who have been able to get copies of their original factory order, or other paperwork, through either the museum or GM Heritage.
Even if the records exist, I'm pretty sure the last thing GM wants, is for them to become public. The lawsuits over bogus cars, would tie up the courts for the next 20 years, and GM would likely be called as a witness, to authenticate the paperwork in every suit.
