Filling gaps between window trim
I've stripped the paint off of my 77 window trims.
I noticed that there are some gaps between the chrome and aluminum trim parts. (see pictures)
I'm scared as hell from frame rust, so I want to protect the inner steel from water. What is the best way to seal these various gaps?
(No glueing! Just seal from water.)
Is there any good filling with a 'silver' color, so it looks nice with the rest of the trim parts?

The white stuff is just some polish that's sticking in bewteen the gaps. The rest are some light water marks that I simply can remove with my finger.

What makes you think it is not already rusted? I have owned my car for 14 years and was always concerned about those gaps. Ignorance is really bliss, because this is what I found when curiosity got the best of me.
In St.Louis a heavy bodied sealant was piped into the:
The joint on the header between the large ss header trim and the long thin ss windshield reveal trim.
The joint on the a-pillar trim between the ss reveal molding and the ss weatherstrip retainer.
The material is RARELY replaced AFTER the ss trim is removed to replace the WINDSHIELD.
People use various materials to make this seal.... IF they make it at all.

Do I just unscrew the top trim (long piece between the two chrome 'corners').
I never done the checkup because I'm scared that ones it's apart I won't get it together anymore.
