Default Side pipe recommendations

I need to replace the exhaust on my 72 and I'm going with the sipe pipes. Any experience good or bad would really be helpful.

Not cheap, but the best. Stahl/ACP side exits. Hooker tailpipes and muffler inserts of your choice. Both BB and SB versions shown, not knowing which engine you have.

Had Hooker sidepipes with Spiral-Turbo mufflers on my 78'. Loved them. Buy shields so you don't burn your legs getting out. They get HOT!

I have put them on a few vettes. They are pretty simple to install. Just have to get the car up off the ground a bit. Remove the starter n plugs for the right side and if you have a manual trans take out the Zbar on the left and plugs. The pita is whether or not you will have to trim the lower side panels after the pipes are installed. Also occasionally the left one will touch the steering box n need a few taps to dimple it for clearance.

I have the Hedman sidepipe hedders on mine, made my own hookup with 3" pipes out to 3.5" sidepipes, made my own mufflers inside the pipes also

I have put several sets on my 69 with a small block since the early 70's and never had to remove the starter.

I am very appreciative af all the installation advice but what I'm really looking for is what brand you guys have had good luck with. Best for the buck.

I have a set of Doug's on my 81, the quality is very good and the fit was near perfect. Like others have said get a pair of heat shields too.

Ok my bad. Couldnt remember if I HAD to remove the starter.
I have had Hooker brand and now OBX. Both seem high quality but the OBX stainless def tarnishes faster then the chrome on the Hooker gets dirty. Just my $.02.

Hookers are cool, and as loud as you want them to be.

No worries about shields: after 2 or 3 "tatoos", you will never forget they are hot, no more risk of burning your leg.

Are they hot enough to burn you with jeans on?

SS Hookers w/STS inserts and SHEILDS...no denting/cutting/etc.

She breathes real good! BIG difference!
