Also, for what it's worth. The seats, dash, radio, console cover, speakers, pillar pads, seat belts, and a ton of bolts are out of it right now. The center gauges are loose. The steering wheel is lowered. The battery is unplugged.
I doubt they'll use my tarp to strip it of the only thing left in it - my ratty old carpet. I am worried they may try to tow it away or steal it. It's insured as a regular car, not a collector.
Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a Nest camera, or a drop cam and mount it outside. Every time it sees or dectects sounds it will alert you. I have mine installed and you will not believe how many strange people come to the door while I’m at work. I can also talk through the camera- it really scares the crap out of people. Plus it is the perfect deterrent as thieves don’t like to mess with properties with camera monitoring. My current front view
I really like this idea. I think I am actually gon a try to place a little camera inside the cab, near the back. Arm it whenever I'm out of sight of the car. When armed, it would alert me of ANY movement inside the car, correct? That combined with a Lojack is a pretty good combo.
Surprising amount of sass in this thread. I know this is hard to believe gentlemen, but I'm young, not rich, and in an over populated area. I simply don't have access to a garage as they are luxuries where I live. I'm making this my every day car. Doing what I can to protect it. I am in a relatively quiet, safe neighborhood. But it still worries me.
I remember living in an apartment complex and having to sneak in what I could, when and where I could. A hobby car daily driver is a challenge. Good luck.
Gadgetry is relatively cheap. Hopefully a deterrent is sufficient.

Do you have 'regular' car insurance or 'collector car' insurance? I know of NO collector car insurance carrier that does not require the car to be garaged overnight. If your car gets damaged/stolen and you file a claim, the carrier WILL investigate to determine if the car is being garaged (talk to neighbors, etc.). They will deny coverage, if they find ANY reason to do so.
My 77 was stolen from outside my garage. Classic car insurance. They never sent anyone to investigate, never talked to neighbors. Didn't dent coverage. They paid. He must have some sort of garage listed on the policy or else they wouldn't give him insurance.
I hear ya OP...... When I was in my early 20s (many years ago) I had a '75 Corvette as my daily driver (only car) and lived in an apartment complex. First week I was there my trim rings and hubs were stolen. Insurance replaced......, I didn't put them back on the car so they wouldn't get stolen again. A few weeks later I went away for the weekend (with my car) and put the rings and hubs back on with the intention of taking them off when I returned. Well, I got in really late on a Sunday night in the rain and figured it would be ok to leave them on until the next day...... WRONG. They were gone when I woke up. It didn't help my apartment was next to a Royal Farm store that had folks hanging around at all hours. I finally sold the car when I came out one morning to find the T-tops gone....... Eventually I moved but not before experiencing these wonderful life's moments !! Good Luck with your '69, my favorite year Corvette after the Mid-years.
