Dash Windshield Gap
Hey Guys, I’m currently I stalling The upper dash pad and have ran into a gap isure. The pad isn’t sitting flush with the windshield. There’s about a half inch gap between the two. When I look From below the clips aren’t flush either. Still about a half inch. I’ve checked the forum and the AIM and Wilcox’s instructions and I couldnt Find anything addressing that issue. I have Installed dynamat and ensolite up to the windshield, but I dont Think that’s creating the gap issue. The Wilcox instruction state to press from the center.. do I press from the center of the dash until it’s fluah and install the single screw from underneath. I also don’t have any of the dash supporting rods. Im not sure if They were removed by the previous owner or if they did not come factory with the car. It’s a ‘74. Thanks
Keep messing with it, but dont break the dash. make sure all the clips are in the right place. if you got space, use a pry tool/screwdriver and work from one side to the other.
The lower dash pieces will show where you need to be at the jamb. I think when i did mine, it went in farther than you have.
