Brake Failure
The Morning started out great, jacked up the car, whipped off the wheels, removed the brake line, unscrewed the 2 bolts on each side, and in about 15 minutes, I was ready to begin....Oh, the calipers had another plan...I quickly snapped off two of the six bleeder valves, and this is where it started going to hell...no problem, yet...I am going to do this...I walked over to my toolbox and opened the draw to the "specialty" tools and quickly located the set of "easy-outs"! Proudly prepared, I moseyed on back over to the bench wielding my special equipment! Up to this point, everything was going as planned, with a minor set-back, that I thought I was prepared for!
I removed my 1/4 - 5/16 extractor from the case and carefully placed it into the hole where the valve had broken. Next, I gently placed my 1/4 inch wrench on the head of the extractor and both effortlessly and promptly broke the extractor off at the shank.
I couldnt wait to post the story of how easy it was, and how successful I was to all of you that said "don't waste your time"!!! Instead, I am writing to tell you all that I am headed to O'reilleys to pick up two new Calipers for the rear of my beloved car!
LMAO
Have a Great Day!
Stone
1st the carburetor screwed up and wouldn't come out of high idle!
Then the water pump started using the weep hole to eliminate all the coolant from the radiator and engine !
Figure this is the best time to replace the thermostat and hoses so I take out one bolt no problem! I go to take out the second bolt from the t-housing and on the 3rd twist... snap !

It left enough that I could put a nut on it halfway so I thought I would weld it to the bolt and that didn't work ! Borrowed the welder from the body shop next door with gas and no luck ! The guy that owned the welder comes over and tries and no go so he goes and gets an extractor set and after several attempts... you guessed it .... snap!

Three hours later I got the extractor piece out and drill it and tap it in the original threads and put that together!
While I was there I replaced the clutch fan and the ported vacume switch!
After putting all that together and three days of removing air from the lines I finally have it back on the ground !
Sure hope your goes easier!
