Happy 40th Birthday
Our 1978 celebrated its 40th Birthday today (9th May).
So, we took it to lunch. We chose a local venue, The Hotel de France, in La Chartre sur Le Loir in La Sarthe. The hotel has connections to the 24 Hours of Le Mans going back to the 20's, but is most famous as the base for John Wyer's Aston Martin, Porsche and Mirage Le Mans race teams. The hotel has hosted many, most, of the "greats" and Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx are still regular guests.
We had a Kir Royale to celebrate, but the car was driving, so abstained! Then a short drive to a few local villages.
A few photos from the day:
Here's to the next 40 years!

Hi SI,
That's a pretty nice way to celebrate a 40th birthday!
If I'm not too late I'd like to order the Brochette de gambas flambées au whisky et ses 2 sauces and for desert today's tarte tatin.
And some champagne if there's some left... or I'll spring for another bottle.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks all!
Alan, we went for the Salmon in a creme and citrus sauce actually - very nice! If you're ever over here, let me know and I'll take you up on the offer of the "champers"!

We've recently moved to a Mac PC and I've discovered facility to make a calendar from photos! It might be something I'll work on in the future. Not sure I'll get many winter photos though!
