I am reinstalling the stock radio/cb in my 1982 Collector Edition Vette and have two wires that appear to come out of the glove box and I don't know where they belong. They have a releash/clip on the line and two circular electrical attachments on the end. Can anyone tell me where these wires belong or what they attach to? Thank you for the help.
I bet that these wires are GRAY and BLACK....with large EYELET terminals on them. They get bolted to the top of your gauge bezel. Because there is a light that goes there... so it shines light down on your shifter console.

I believe you are correct about the wires and the description. I will try to attach a picture to rule out all guess work. If these are the wires can you please tell me where exactly they attach to the gauge bezel? Is there an obvious location to attach them? I attempted to attach a pic but I don't know if it worked. Maybe someone can instruct me in how to add a pic please? Enjoy your day.
If I remember correctly the eyelets screw right into the top bezel and the bulb screws right in on top of them, just like bulbs on the gauge circuit board. Might be missing the plastic pieces. Wish I was home to send pics of what the assembly looks like.
YES...those eyelets a re assembled with light housing that attaches to the TOP of your gauge bezel and will provide light to shine down on your center console.
Thank you for your response and pics. Just so I am certain of what I'm doing I am including a pic of my console where the light goes in. Am I correct to think that the two eyelets go around the bulb holder and then that is pushed in and turned to secure it to the console? Please let me know. Thank you all again for all of your help with this. Enjoy ur day.
Those two Phillips head screws is where you will install the eyelets so when you install the light bulb it will have a 12 volt source and a ground to make the light shine.
I would say that installing an LED in place of that incandescent bulb is MUCH better and provides more light. Because at night tine...there is very little to almost no light that gets to your shift console with an incandescent bulb....even with the correct one with the magnifying end on it. Not only that...the incandescent bulb gets hot and can melt the housing also.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I will take ur advice about the type of light bulb I install. Does it matter which eyelet I attach to which screw head? Do you know where I might find a complete diagram or guide to reinstalling this radio. It is an original am/fm/casette/cb radio and I want to be sure I put in back in correctly. Thank you again for all of your assistance with this. enjoy ur day.
No it does not matter which eyelet goes where as long as youahve enough wire.
BUT...keep in mind that when you go and install the LED light bulb. It HAS TO be installed one way to work. So...if it does not work. Take it out of the socket and spin it 180 degrees and put it back in.

Thank you again for the help. Any idea of where I can locate a manual or guide to show me how to reinstall this radio?

FWIW: the assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows the installation of the radio, speakers, antenna, etc. Most all of the Corvette vendors carry the AIMs.
