Default Help identify my engine ?

My '78 Vette came with an engine said to be a 327, believed to be out of a '68 Camaro. I got to looking at the numbers on it this morning, and I'm having a little trouble making sense of them. First, here's a pic of the casting number from the driver side near the firewall.

From what I found, 3914678 could have been a 302, 327, or 350 all from 1968, as shown here.

Now the pad stamp...

V0703HN looks to be Flint plant, July 3 date, and HN looks like only one possibility in '68...

Partial VIN looks like 18F24564... so 1-Chevy, 8-1968, F-Flint(Chevy).

So Am I correct in figuring it must have originally been from a 1968 Chevy truck ?

It looks like its from a Chevy II or a Full Size car such as an Impala, Bel Air or Biscayne but I don't see any listing for a truck as you suggested unless that's also considered "full size".

You did good research.

Ahh. I was assuming a truck because all the references I found to Flint Chevy assembly were pickups.

Oh, I forgot another piece of the puzzle. Does anyone recognize this head marking ? I haven't pulled a valve cover to see what the part number actually is, but I've been told this marking gives an idea of what heads they are...

'68 327 2-bolt main out of a full size car or Nova with Powerglide transmission. The heads are probably 041 castings and they are very good heads. Same as 186 double hump heads but they have different casting marks. 64cc chambers and big ports.
