You only need a paper clip bent into a “U”.
Insert both ends into their proper holes as instructed in the shop manual, then turn on the key (without starting the car) and then you will count the dash light pulses as explained in the manual.

I am 100% certain that it has zero effect on the performance of your fuel pump. It is a radio noise supressor and since current design fuel pumps do not generate AM radio noise they are not necessary.

have you run the ECM fault code test using a paper clip as described in the shop manual? It is very easy. You are missing prime summer driving time with your beautiful classic car.

I did the ECU and for 20 minutes I only have:
(Flash) Flash Flash (long pause), Flash (pause) Flash Flash (long pause), Flash (pause) Flash Flash (long pause)

The car was no longer starting, I opened the pump relay I moved a little contact and it starts, I will order a new relay.

J'ai fais le tets ECU et pendant 20 mn je n'ai que çà:

La voiture ne démarrait plus, j'ai ouvert le relais de pompe j'ai bougé un peu les contact et elle démarre, je vais commander un nouveau relais.

The first start takes 10 seconds, then it starts right away.

The fault was solved, the brown wire of the pump relay that had been cut and soldered was not fonctionne, I pulled the harness and redid the wiring.

La panne est résolue, le fil marron du relais de pompe qui avait été coupé et ressoudé, était HS, j'ai sortie le faisceau et refait le câblage.
