Default Steering Column Help

Decided to tackle the steering column again and fix some issues. Fixed everything I needed to but now i cant get the thing back together. I don’t remember how I got it back together last time, there must be some sort of trick.

One thing is that I’m not entirely sure of the route the turn signal / cruise control wire.

I cannot get the main plastic piece over the other one that covers the tilt lever.
I’ve gotten it very close but it wont go exactly in place.

Your wires get routed like what your second photo shows.

To get the outer housing to lock into place you have to make sure the black plastic part that is used for your headlight dimmer rod fits into the plastic. It is a very precise fit. I am sure you know the part I am talking about.

Found the issue. The metal tab on the dimmer switch wasn't going into the channel that it needed too. All I had to do was push the tab towards the front of the car and everything fit into place.
