Relatively new to Corvettes. Bought my first this past January. 1982 Base Coupe with only 25000 original miles. I love it!!! Exterior and interior are pretty much perfect with one exception. The lighted vanity mirror on the passenger sunvisor is missing the flip-up lid. I'm guessing it was broken off sometime in the cars history. The lights still work when the little button is pressed but to keep the car perfect I would like to replace the entire lighted mirror assembly. The visor itself is in perfect condition. I did not see much information in my shop manual regarding removal of the mirror assembly from the visor or replacement. Have not dug into things too deep but does anyone have any instructions or suggestions on the steps to perform a replacement? Can't tell yet how the mirror assembly attaches to the visor or how to get it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated forever and ever.
Hi. Thanks for the response. Greatly appreciated. I have already located several vendors that sell the vanity mirror but I was wondering if anyone had any instructions for removing and replacing it. Have not yet been able to determine how to remove it from the visor and then replace with a new unit including the electrics. If anyone has any suggestions just let me know.
Excellent!!! Very helpful. The new vanity mirror should arrive today so the diagram you sent helps greatly. Many thanks and best wishes to you and all in Sparta.
