Default Side Pipe Rust
I need your help on what to use to remove surface rust from the collector of a Doug coated side pipe header. Thanks for any advice.

If that's chrome rub it with some steel wool

It’s not chrome, it’s a ceramic coating I believe.

10 Years ago I used a can of rust remover that will take rust off nearly anything. Harley Davidson riders use it to clean the chrome parts on their bikes. "NeverDull"......infused tough cotton-like material.

I have no idea how it would react to ceramic coatings though.

Try it on a spot that won't be noticeable....even if there is no rust....just to see if it will discolor the area that still has a good finish

Be careful. Ceramic coating will come off when rubbing like old single stage lacquer paint.
