I hope its OK to ask this question here. Hopefully, I’ll be purchasing a 1970 roadster soon and will need to transport it. Any suggestions on the best way? I don’t mind doing it myself but would need to rent the right equipment. Or, have a professional do it. I don’t want it dinged up or damaged during transportation. Thanks!
I hauled my 68 from Petaluma, CA to Scottsdale, AZ and had no problems using a rented U-haul auto transport trailer. You just need to stop every now and then to make sure the straps are tight.

Reason: .
I've used InterCity Lines, Reliable, Thomas Sunday and Minuteman. All have been great. It all depends on how much you value your car and the distance it will be traveling.

I used Passport to haul my 69 coupe from St. Louis to Gainesville, TX. About a thousand bucks. They are enclosed and you actually know and talk to the guy that will be hauling your car. This is very important.
If you go to inspect a car dragging a trailer its hard to not just buy the sumbitch. I looked at my car very carefully and could have just driven home (in my C5!) if it did not meet my desires and price negotiation. I researched very carefully and believe passport is the best, reliable, covered, deal out there. As far as towing, I have a 3/4 ton diesel which would be excellent for towing a uhaul but figured it would cost about $600 plus a hotel room. Money analysis said pay Passport the extra 400 bucks!!!
Hope this helps in your decision.
