Photobucket appears to be back up and running like the good old days...

I used to have a lot of photos hosted by Photobucket. Then they introduced a fee for hosting, so I moved most of my photos to other hosting sites.

Now it appears they have a new CEO whom (I assume) has been seeing loss of revenue, so Photobucket is now back up and running as was. .

The only reason I found out was that I had a latent list of photos that needed moving off Photobucket when I got the time... so I looked to do it today and now it appears I don't need to... that is all....

Well! That's good to hear. Now we can see our old thread pics once again in living color. But they have ruined it for me......I'm not going back or opening an account even if they host for free.

I dumped them when they wanted 300 bucks a year for external hosting. I get better hosting now for 69 bucks a year. I will never go back to PB after that garbage they tried to pull.

I have to agree, too little too late.... Closing the gate after the horses are all out of the barn doesn't really work....

YMMV

Yeah I removed over 1000 photos there, so no I won’t be returning. The 2 forum methods for pulling photos off your own hard drive without a third party is much more efficient anyway.

Pulled everything off their servers and not going back regardless of how little they are charging. Damage is done

Only things I miss is not having them there for when I do feel the need to answer something online and I don't have access to my images and the auto resize thing it did. When I upload here to CF the images are just way to big so I have to resize them before uploading.

$1.99 a month for a basic account + $2.49 a month for 3rd party hosting??? I almost signed when I got my email from them and then realized I really did not miss using them.

It always pleases me to no end when a greedy beancounter gets it shoved up his back side. That applies in spades to pb.
