Congratulations, I guess you finally sold that beautiful C3. I am sad to see leave the Corvette family, but I wish you well. If you ever get a hankering to sample a C7, PM me and I will be glad to let you compare it with the Porsche.
Good Luck with the new ride, and have fun.

Wrong forum to appreciate the German VW. We here are Corvette fans, and I am especially an American car lover only.....no matter how good the competition is. Hey, but anyways,....it is a nice VW.
I like the Porsche, but when we decided to get a new car, we went with a new Grand Sport and we just couldn't part with the 75. Sometimes older is worth keeping, as I often remind my wife.......
To each their own op, if the Porsche makes you happy, get the Porsche (as you did).
Obviously this being a corvette forum, most of the people here find the Vette tickles their fancy more.
Were you to post this same thing on a Porsche forum, you would have plenty of people applauding the decision and dissing the American V8.
Either way, congrats on the new purchase, hope it's everything you wanted in a car! Couldn't get much different in the sports car market, going from an old American V8 that is low and rumbly and wallows around a bit (assuming you have stock or near stock suspension and steering), to a German sports car that is light and nimble and tight and goes exactly where you point it.
Change can be fun, you only live once, so if the Vette didn't make you happy, might as well own something that does! Enjoy!

Tough?
Not really, i think the remarks are pretty tame considering this IS a corvette forum of vintage years and a person comes in boasting of buying a new model import,
Of course a porsche forum would praise the idea as they have a new sheep in their flock,
My favorite reply, is the one about affording vintage air,
The truck one is good too
But sure i respect what a person wants and i hope in this case im respected right back when i say not my cup o tea if i had to keep the Porsche i wouldnt want it for free,
