Not in that particular pattern, but I've seen plenty of day/night mirrors (and other kinds of old mirrors) have similar things happen to the silvering.
On day/night mirrors, I think it's often caused by the ammonia in glass cleaners. Manufacturers usually recommend using a non ammonia cleaner on day/night mirrors.

If you spray glass cleaner on the mirror, that is what you get. Spray it on the rag sparingly and carefully wipe the glass and you don’t get that. I thought bowtie mirrors were only midyear exterior mirrors!
