Rear emblem ?

Rear emblem ?

On my 77 I have my new rear bumper all painted and ready to go on. I took a little ride to Bairs today and bought new retainer strips and a new emblem. I’ve removed the old bumper now and am at a loss for what is holding the emblem on. The new emblem has 3 pins on it and came with a new metal bracket. After removing the old cover I found the old metal bracket laying on the bumper bar and the pins look like someone may have peened them over. There is no double sided tape on the face and I was expecting to find speed nuts on the pins. Am I missing something?or what am I overlooking?

I am assuming someone removed that emblem before and dropped the metal bracket so they just bent over the pins to hold it in place.

Thanks, so my assumption was right, I will look for some speed nuts.
