I’ve been thinking, shopping around and talking about purchasing the FITech system. Ya know one of them fuel injected conversion kit to throw in my 73 Stingray. Talk me out of it or try to talk me in to it I don’t care but let me know how you feel or if you’ve heard and/or experienced any horror stories! I drive it...a lot...I like the idea of the consistency and reliability they pitch not that my carb has been the opposite I just think it may work to the benefit of my Stingrays daily driver life.

Any particular "fuel injection conversion kit" in particular, there are a lot of choices out there these days.
A customer of mine is using the FITech system on a ZZ427 powered 69 Camaro resto-mod he's building. Though still about a month away from being completed, the car is running and driving, and so far he's very happy with the FITech.
It's your car mate, you do with it as you please. I for one reckon its a great idea, and some EFI conversions even look like there's a carb under the air intake any way.
BTW nice looking' 73, what mags and size you running there ?

the FITech system is what I’ve been checking out. That’s awesome! And exactly what I’m looking to hear lol

thank you for being a good influence haha thank you very much, they’re 18’s (x10) but to be honest I’ve never been very fond of them. A bit much I think. Although I’m not in a rush to buy a new set up so I guess they can’t be that bad lol

Your subject line doesnt mention fi it pokes at purists
Might have gotten better replied if you had included fi in the subject.
While i am a modder i am old school and will run a carb on my 69, fi has so many pros and almost zero cons if i wanted to go the extra bucks i would jump on a set up,
Especially on a car that gets driven a lot...not that a carb wont work too....

The Holley Sniper is getting a lot of good reviews as well.
Personally, I'm done with carbs.
With today's gas, EFI is the only way to go in my opinion.
You've already added custom wheels and side pipes. You might as well make it fuel injection if you want to. It's your car, and fuel injection is very reliable.
If you are dropping a K-note on EFI because it will start more easily, maintain idle speed on its own, and be more efficient at fuel mileage, I would tell you to "Go for it!". But, that $1K would be way too much for me to spend for those minor gains.
But, if carburetor and divorced-choke technology is getting the best of you and you have the ca$h to dump on it, why not?
P.S. Or you could send your Q-jet off to Lars and get it rebuilt and adjusted better than 'factory-new" for a couple hundred.
Nothing wrong with a well tuned carb either nothing unreliable about them.
Nothing wrong with the Fitech on my '79, I really like it. I drive my car a lot too. The Fitech went in with my 388 stroker, has done about 15,000 street and track miles. The only dramas I've had are not with the Fitech, but with cheap headers - exhaust leaks result in the o2 sensor reading lean and the fuel injection pumping in more fuel so it runs really rich - this is a function of how self learning efi setups work, not a fault with the Fitech.
I'm so used to Q-jet tuning that I'm not sure it would be worth the effort for me. I know others that have really liked their fuel injecting kits. I also don't want to have to run a return line to the tank.
