chock light on my 1981 vette stays on there is voltage to the chock replace alternator checked fuse at this point I am stumped any help would be greatly appreciated
When this happened on my 1980, it was because the alternator was not putting out any current. it turned out the diode trio had failed. You may want to hook up a volt meter to the alternator and measure the voltage output.
On some Corvettes...a 1981 for sure...IN the tachometer face itself...towards the bottom is a square cut out that has a lens that when lit up...will read 'CHOKE'.

I know a 1979 does no have it....but a 1980 does.

Because 1979's still had a choke activated by a manifold heat tube and 1980 and 81's had an electric choke.

Thanks, that's the first I've ever heard of a choke light.

and knew that but did not wrote it...but I did write that the 1979's do not have choke light just in case anybody asked .."What about a 1979???" If they did or not.
So I covered one base but left one uncovered. I try to cover all my bases when writing and fail sometimes when I leave out information.
