LT-1 Owners Thread

Both are real ZR-1s, but I don’t’ t believe either warranted the prices that were brought. The two best 1970 ZR-1s that I am aware of are Laguna gray… One coupe, one convertible, both unrestored. Considering these auction sales, the two gray cars should be pushing $400,000.

I was really surprised at the last two ZR1 sales on BAT. As you mentioned the red car had issues and the white convertible with the blue interior has a restamped motor and the tank sticker is a repo. At those prices you would think that the buyers would do their homework. Stan, did you see that the 68 L68 convertible with a color change brought $115k? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-chevrolet-corvette-convertible-50/
Crazy money in my opinion.
There are a number of ZR1 cars going through mecum in January. It will be interesting to see what they bring including Jim Anderson's 70 ZR1 convertible pilot car:https://www.mecum.com/lots/1132332/1...r-convertible/
Crazy money in my opinion.
I originally thought that it was an original, high option, black car until I saw the trim tag. As you said, crazy money.

Thanks! BTW, if I were in a position to do this, I would be taking play dough, rolled into a cylinder, (wrapped in saran wrap as to not make a mess of the air cleaner lid or hood paint) placed on top of the air cleaner. Shut the hood all the way, then measure the play dough.

The car won an award recognizing an important member of the club. It was an honor to be selected and I thank Boardwalk Corvettes of AC for hosting the show. I met some great people who asked many questions about the car. This is my 6th car show that I have attended and still not one other LT-1 present.

Bought in 2012, would work on awhile, work on other projects and then work on some more. Time flys working on Corvettes like a Twilight Zone clock!
Suspension work, eng work, gluing body panels and body work, new interior, painted bc/cc in my backyard, ect ect ect.
did it all myself except some weld repairs.
Like the smart guy once told me; anybody can start a project but it takes a heck of a guy to finish one, only took me 14yrs ha ha!
Original eng. original M21, 3.55 rear. Was going to sell it but can not part with it now, LOL's!
Lots of help from this forum along the way Thanks!!
