Not much activity in this thread so I’ll revive it with a short video I saw today on YouTube, it shows a few LT-1’s and what they sold for. The last car in the video is a ZR1, it went for some serious money. The car before the ZR1 is an exact duplicate of my car except mine doesn’t have the the luggage rack. Hopefully newer members will keep this thread alive with pictures of their LT-1’s.
Regards
Roy

Speaking of LT- pricing, a white 70 LT-1 ZR1 just sold on BAT today for $280,000. Not bad money.

Not bad for a car (that in my opinion) has a restoration engine and some questionable paperwork. The red 1970 ZR-1 that sold a few weeks ago has some issues too.

Both are real ZR-1s, but I don’t’ t believe either warranted the prices that were brought. The two best 1970 ZR-1s that I am aware of are Laguna gray… One coupe, one convertible, both unrestored. Considering these auction sales, the two gray cars should be pushing $400,000.

Stan,
I was really surprised at the last two ZR1 sales on BAT. As you mentioned the red car had issues and the white convertible with the blue interior has a restamped motor and the tank sticker is a repo. At those prices you would think that the buyers would do their homework. Stan, did you see that the 68 L68 convertible with a color change brought $115k? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-chevrolet-corvette-convertible-50/

Crazy money in my opinion.

There are a number of ZR1 cars going through mecum in January. It will be interesting to see what they bring including Jim Anderson's 70 ZR1 convertible pilot car:https://www.mecum.com/lots/1132332/1...r-convertible/

I did.

I originally thought that it was an original, high option, black car until I saw the trim tag. As you said, crazy money.

I didn’t know that Jim was selling it. Talked to him at Carlisle, but he didn’t mention that he was getting rid of it. Nice car, Gary probably did the restoration so it will be right on the money… Not sure about that color combination though. You see very few 1970s with that dark brown interior and I’m not sure it goes real well with the Monza red. Still, the documentation is great and the engine looks to be the original… I would guess that this car will do very well.

Yeah, I don't care for the color combo. Monza Red with brown interior is really rare, but that's because there weren't many buyers that wanted it. Great car though.

Here is another video with some results from the most recent Mecum auction in Kissimmee, Florida. These are a little more rare than the standard LT-1s from the other video.

Default 1971 lt-1

Recently purchased this 1971 LT-1 Convertible, my dream car. It is just about 100% stock (upgraded radiator, dealer installed passenger side mirror, shoulder seat belts). What was replaced I have originals in boxes. Signed up for 3 car shows in 2025 (Ocean City, Smithville, NJ 2x). Hope to see some other C-3 owners there!

Need one of my fellow LT1 owners please help? Can someone please measure the clearance from the top of the stock air cleaner lid to the hood? This thread explains why: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-lt1-hood.html
Thanks! BTW, if I were in a position to do this, I would be taking play dough, rolled into a cylinder, (wrapped in saran wrap as to not make a mess of the air cleaner lid or hood paint) placed on top of the air cleaner. Shut the hood all the way, then measure the play dough.

I entered my first car show with my 1971 Corvette LT-1 Convertible in Bridgeton, NJ today. The car won first place for best corvette. I'm guessing there were approximately 20ish Corvettes in attendance. The car show was all makes and years, not a Corvette specific event. Was very happy to do so well for my first car show. Surprising how many people even at car shows do not know what a LT-1 is. Also met some really nice people. One guy I met claims he has a spare LT-1 motor. Might look into it out of curiosity, I'm not a buyer for it. Anyway the car was very popular among spectators and was a really nice local event.

There was a blue LT-1 on Marketplace in Southeast PA outside of Philly, seller said it was abandoned at one point and the title reflected this. Was listed for some unholy deal, like 14k or so. The ad was gone in hours. Wonder if the new owner is on here.

Since this thread has been quiet I thought I would share some recent events. As you can see I am a new Corvette owner so excuse the "Corvette enthusiasm" lol. This is my second car show I entered this year. I signed up for 4 this year. This show was held at Smithville, NJ. Smithville is an artsy village with a lot of specialty shops, nice backdrop. The show was all GM cars but there were mostly Corvettes. The show was hosted by the Boardwalk Corvette Club of AC. They also hold a Corvette car show in Ocean City, NJ in the fall that draws around 500 cars? It is the biggest Corvette show in South Jersey, maybe the state, that I am aware of.

The car won an award recognizing an important member of the club. It was an honor to be selected and I thank Boardwalk Corvettes of AC for hosting the show. I met some great people who asked many questions about the car. This is my 6th car show that I have attended and still not one other LT-1 present.

Default 72 LT-1 Corvette Coupe Bryar Blue

Finally finished my 72 LT-1 Bryar Blue a couple of weeks ago.

Bought in 2012, would work on awhile, work on other projects and then work on some more. Time flys working on Corvettes like a Twilight Zone clock!

Suspension work, eng work, gluing body panels and body work, new interior, painted bc/cc in my backyard, ect ect ect.
did it all myself except some weld repairs.

Like the smart guy once told me; anybody can start a project but it takes a heck of a guy to finish one, only took me 14yrs ha ha!

Original eng. original M21, 3.55 rear. Was going to sell it but can not part with it now, LOL's!

Lots of help from this forum along the way Thanks!!
