buy a gallon of straight cheap stuff (usually like $10 on sale), and if you are really concerned about the tap water quality in your area, buy a gallon distilled water at walmart, its like 98 cents.
you get 2 gallons of 50/50 for $11, instead of paying the same for 1 gallon of premix.
I am personally no expert on antifreeze, but based on what I have read on the NCRS forum, I am going to use Zerex G-05 in my 70 big block I am restoring. It is better with any solder joints you may have, and I have not read of any downsides to using it. I used Zerex G-05 in my 69 L46 I previously owned, and it performed well.

I run G-05 in all my cars, including my CL55 AMG.
Great for cooling systems and engine bits that are aluminum.
Im in Florida i dont run antifreeze as it doesnt freeze here,
I run water, not tap water, well my tap it has a special filter,
Before anyone gets in a tizzy i do use an additive to lube the water pump and pervent corrosion,
For those who want a plug and play pre mix seems popular but yeah, mix it yourself and save a buck
When you buy premixed, you are paying 10 bucks a gallon for water. A 502 is a big block Chevy. You can run salt water in them for 15 years before getting corrosion issues. I know lots of guys who do. Some spend 15-20k on 750 hp 540's and run raw ocean water for coolant cuz 50-75 lbs closed cooling system is too much extra weight. Antifreeze type is not a major consideration.

About ready to fill the radiator on the resurrected '72. Have a new ZZ502+Al radiator. Do I use Dexcool or the green stuff? OAT or something else?
Does it ever freeze where you live? If not, I'd suggest just running straight water with an anti-corrosion package. Water has a much higher heat capacity than antifreeze.
