Finish protection
Just curious what everybody is using to protect your cars finish?
Also what you use for applying and buffing.

I use Carnauba Wax, apply and buff by hand. This paint was powder when I started, 3 hours and a sore arm later.
Unless you know what you are doing with a buffer dont use one on it.

Thanks for your input. Your car looks fantastic but where did the scuff come from?

There are scuffs all over it. Just maintaining what is there, paint and body are currently last on the project list.

Ive had good luck with a lot of stuff from meguiars in the past. A clay bar and wax was my usual choice. but lately have been buying wolfgang or pinnacle compounds, swirl removers and waxes and sealants. I bought a quality buffer and use 2-3 times per year on all of our cars. I shop at autogeek.com for stuff on sale. A ton of great information on their website too.

Mothers wax is great, put on a light base by hand, let it cure for two days then repeat several times for the water look. First time by hand will have you cussing for 2-3 days from the sore shoulder syndrome... after the first coat it goes on and buffs off really easy though.

How do I protect my finish? I have a 30 year old crappy paint job that I don't care too much about. One day I might care after I get a respray. Right now I just enjoy driving my car and not worry too much about the paint.
