can anyone shed some light if there is a difference if any (or not) between the assembly instruaction manuals offered by NCRS copmared to the manuals offered by corvette vendores, compared to the manuals that ore offered on ebay?
I'm not familiar with the NCRS AIM's, but there ARE differences between some. The one I bought for my 79 (I forget which vendor) was printed in 'landscape' on both sides of the paper, but when you open the binder so that you are looking at two pages, the top one is upside down, so I'm constantly turning the whole binder as I'm paging thru it - very annoying.
Aim is a systems assembly guide as an engineer would layout the ncrs guide is a reference tool of typical configurations, finishes, and options from the perspective of someone who is restoring a vehicle to original specifications. One example would be in a specific spot not just detailing a 2" grade 8 bolt but showing for a given year or model it was typically seen in 1 of 3 head castings such as "w", "wb" or "L" but "wb" was most commonly used and describes the finish applied or typically seen.
i would agree with Len, they compliment each other if restoration is your preference.

I'm not sure where the NCRS might get their AIMs, but almost all available AIMs originated from a factory document which was photocopied. Many of them available are based on copies of copies and quality can diminish. My advice would be to purchase from the established vendors and not chance what you might get off eBay.

As for NCRS Vs others I've bought from both, I just think you can never have to much information when trying to work through something.

that's why i bought mine on CD.
if you get a good one from a reliable source, they are "word" searchable, make finding things easier.
also you only need to print off the pages you need for the specific job in the workshop,
that way they can then get dirty / greasey fingerprints etc, then thrown away afterwards.
