IMO, the best insulation and sound deadening (for the money and for effectiveness) was the stock jute pad heat insulation and the cardboard tar-paper stuff which eliminated higher frequency sounds from the passenger compartment. Until jute gets wet, it does a great job of heat insulation; it's cheap (or it used to be) and effective. But vendors make a LOT more profit convincing you that their hi-dollar stuff is what you need.
I've used Reflectix and it is decent...until the bubbles get popped (use over time). Then it's just "plastic wrap". The foil outer layer on the Reflectix is a good idea, as it rejects radiant heat. So foil placed face down on the floor FIRST is a good idea, regardless of which insulation you put on top of it.
