I'm not real familiar with the old school cars, but you've got me curious. What set off your BS detector?
Note this difference in the VIN stamp between the restamped ebay engine (Top pic) and this factory stamped 70 block (Lower pic). The engine ID stamp and the VIN stamp will ALWAYS be different....which is not so on the ebay engine. It also appears that the restamped ebay engine has the ID and VIN numbers in reverse order too.

I read the whole ad and the guy said he could not prove it was authentic.
He is claiming it is one of 25 ever made. He is claiming that he has the original engine that PROVES the car is a ZR-1. He says he does not know if its been restamped or not. This car is not one of 25 ever made. The engine does not prove anything. And if Corvette people are looking at the car, he has to know that is an awful restamped engine. Also, earlier this year, someone on the forum posted about this guy's eBay ad. He knew the car before it was modified. I'm sure the seller knows the truth by now.
"YOU ARE BIDDING ON A RARE ICONIC 1 OF 25 EVER MADE I DONT HAVE THE TANK STICKER ALL I HAVE IS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE THAT PROVES THE CAR IS A ZR1 I DONT KNOW IF ITS BEEN RESTAMPED OR NOT"

Oh I agree with you... But he did write that and I'm sure he did it so if someone bought it and complained he could point to the ad and say " I didn't know if it was real or not".
"The depth of their depravity sickens me" I am no expert, but that's the worst re stamp I have ever seen. He knows its bad, that's why his disclaimer is there.
If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it.
If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.
If you repeat a lie long enough, it becomes truth.
If you repeat a lie many times, people are bound to start believing it.
