I recently ordered and received a wiper arm vacuum switch (from Wilcox) it appears different than I’ve seen on other cars, and different than all I see advertised. All i’ve seen have a white end( or cap) with what looks like a ribbed boot. All at the contact end. This one does not. Am I missing something or did I get a new style? Thanks Shelby

Does your's just have the spring and plunger exposed? IIRC the ribbed boot is no longer available, you could use your old one or run without. Just a "dust cover" but will still work

Yes , Mooser, that’s what mine looks like. I didn’t have one previously, so none to put on. I’ll run as is. Thanks
If it has a boot on it... it's made in China and junk.... We don't make it with the boot but it'll work just fine and the valve design is made for the boot, so if you had an old one you could just re-use it. I've out of the boots and have been for about 2 years. At one time we made this but the cost was so absorbent that we just stopped doing it. Since the valve works flawlessly without it, you'll be fine and this USA valve will work perfectly!!! The china one will fail instantly.
I think if your really worried about dirt getting in that area you could get some shrink wrap that big enough and make your own boot.
You really don't need the boot... While it'll keep the stuff off the valve, it's under the wiper door so it's really not a problem. The main thing to know is that if you guy one that has the boot... it's imported and will fail instantly... I've complained to the manufacturer but they don't seem to care... this is why I say.. in Dave I trust.. Dave makes these for us and he's done such an incredible job I that I can't say how much gratitude I can give him.
