I have a 1976 corvette that my father gave me I'm in the process of fixing it it currently runs and drives just needs a new paint job let me know what you guys think of it.

Check the VIN. Pace Cars had a special VIN number and sequence. 1Z87*8S9xxxxx. Regular production 78s had a 4 in place of the 9. The * is the engine ID code and can vary.

Regular production 78s did not have the clam shell seats but the Pace Cars did. Your dad could have changed them out but check the vin like Mike suggested.
