Default 70 Block Casting Date

Have a 1970 Roadster with a Casting # of 3970010 with a Casting Date of M108. M108 does not equate
to a normal Casting Date. Can anyone decode the casting date?

Thanks

Engines with the M code are "test" casting blocks. This is not a date code. I owned a '72 with a M code engine and tried to figure it out myself. That car is now owned by another member of this forum. The best explanation is done by Gene Gamache with an article titled "M was for Mystery". Scroll down the attached pdf to read his article.
