When I try to determine a date for this carb, what I read says there should be a 4-digit number under the part #. I do not see one.
I do see "DG", which the charts I've found refer to that as "Customer Code".
I do see 0718 on the carburetor's base. Might that be the 71st day of 1968? (March 11th) - I have a build date of March 21st, so it could be the date code?

Thank you, MelWff. And you are right on According to this from the link you provided, the date code is in fact located where I suspected, and now I know.
The date code may be in a number of areas. Those carburetors that were originally tagged (see above paragraph) will have a 2-character date code stamped into the tag. Most 1968 and some very early production 1969 original carburetors will have a 4-digit date code stamped on the drivers' side of the throttle body (lower casting) just to the front of the rear mounting hole.
