Hey looking for the oil temp sensor location and read that it should be right above the filter and I was wondering if mine is the button looking plug. Read that the pressure unit was here in the past and that the pressure unit was moved to the top behind the distributor.
Is it the little button looking thing ? And if so can I pry that out ?
Thanks !

Reason: Additional info
So after reading a couple dozen more post from various sites I am pretty sure the button looking thing is what I need so I really just need to know how to get that plug out.
It all depends on what model year you have. '68-73 (I think) had analog oil gauges with pressure fed tubing going to them. They came from the port behind the distributor. Later years had electric gauges with a sending unit mounted around the oil filter.
Oil temp sender? What year did that become standard? I thought oil temp was added aftermarket. That Wilcox link sez otherwise for 80-82, but this engine is orange, not blue.
It is for an aftermarket intellitronix gauge cluster. I found another site showing sensors plugged into the area where that “button” looking plug is but I cannot figure out how to get it out. Seems like the sbc either has the port or a completely different design with no port area there so it makes me think I just need to figure out how to ge that off.
