Your current craigslist ad sounds a lot less hostile than your first one did, so that might help. Even your listing here on the forum has lost some of it's heat you had posted originally.
Nobody wants to buy from an angry seller.
It makes me think the car is a POS if you're that mad at it.
The car looks like a decent project even though it's a very strange color combination, which probably hurts it more than anything.
If you need to sell right away I would eBay it on a 7 day listing. I have sold many cars there with very good results. The entire world will see the car and you will find out exactly what it's real value is.
A "friendly" honest listing for this easy project, with lots of pictures and info on the work you've done should get this car sold there quickly. Start your bidding low and don't tell anyone what your reserve is. If it hits the reserve you're good. If it doesn't but gets close, you can always decide to take the highest offer.
Hey, you asked.
Good luck with the sale.
Greg

I'm angry that I'm having to sell it for such a low price and not getting a buyer. It's insult to injury having to sell something you care about and felt was worth something only to have 0 interest and basically give it away. The car itself I love and am not angry with. Its a 45 year old car.
Yes I did ask and thank you for your info I may end up doing that.
Appreciate all the help and advice but it sorta feels like an artist who made a beautiful painting(to them) and then goes to sell it and rather than look at the painting people are nitpicking about the type of paint used or what color the brushes were, nobody likes it and eventually he to sees it as ugly. 5 days ago before I listed the car I thought I really had something beautiful and now.. Well this experience has made me lose all interest in the car and resent it.
At this point for my own sanity I'm stepping away. I feel bad the car will rot in the garage slowly but I feel any further money will be wasted but I cannot even get the 8k I purchased it for so hopefully it sells.. If not I'll have to figure out something else.
Thanks for your time and putting up with my whining, you guys have been extremely kind to someone whose bitched and whined constantly. The truth hurts.

Patience....don't know if you've ever sold a car on eBay, but I sold my first one a few months ago. It was a no reserve auction and had lots of watchers. Most of the action took place during the last few remaining minutes. I got more $ than I expected and the transaction went very smooth with no problems....even the shipping went smooth.
Mine had great brakes but no reverse gear, just enough to move it when the engine was cold.
You currently have 26 watchers and 18 viewers per hour, that's a good sign.
Good luck.

I have to agree that with no working brakes people can not drive the car regardless of all that has been put into it. Hopefully you have a buyer soon or find a solution to your dilemma. And yes I understand it is a 'AS IS' type of sale.

anytime you sell a non-driving project you will take a major $ loss.
get it running and driveable, sell it as a driveable corvette,
and you will get larger interested audience, and more money.
