I have gone thru a body-off restoration on a 1980 corvette and installed a new wiring harness. I tried to label everything and take pics where I needed to make sure on connections. But I can't find out where this long black wire goes, is it a cruise control wire ? I have a pic of the original wire but it's blurry, but you can see the connector I'm pulling it out of but I don't have a similar connector that I could find on the new harness:
Here is another pic (again blurry):
and a last pic where it comes out of the column (long black wire dangling from column):
any help in identifying the wire and where it goes would be helpful,
Richard
I believe the cruise control harness has a separate connector that plugs into the dash harness. I was just guessing what the functionality of the wire with a 3 connector flat spade connects to. It has to be something to do with what is on the column. The turn signals, etc.. all come out thru the large multi-pin connectors on the side of the column.
I looked around and saw nothing that would accept this type of connector.
Just as a follow-up to this thread, the three-prong connector that I didn't know where it plugs into does plug into the cruise control harness (dark green wires).
