The jacks numerical # is supposed to be the year of manufacture. The letter, is suppose to represent the month. The photo looks like the number and letter are backwards, such as a reversed negative photo. The NCRS Judging Guide does not provide a month identifier. One photo shows a M as being December.

The letter "i" was not used therefore M= December & J September.
Cannot find any mention of the mirror image however someone on the forum posted recently showing an identical picture of the J & 2 as your pic.. Also on ebay someone is selling two jacks also reversed. No explanation & you would expect it to be explained away somewhere.
