Default Correct shocks for 82 Vette

82 Vette. Wanting to change out shocks in my 82. Found AC Delco set available and Bilstein set available. What was stock? Were Bilsteins available as an option in 82? Want to keep it stock if possible.

Don’t waste your money on the ACdelco’s. Go with Bilstein Heavy Duties.

The stock Delco replacement shocks for the 82 Corvette (and most other 63-81 Corvettes) are Delco number 530-315 for the front, and 530-4 for the rear. I've used the stock Delco's on plenty of restorations, and have been very happy with them.

If you're building a car to autocross or drag race, the Delco's aren't for you, but if you're looking for a shock for your weekend toy, that provides a good compromise between ride and handling, the Delco's are a good choice.
