I know it's silly and just TV. I remember seeing one forum member who posted about having his C2 done up by these folks.
But, just saw a new episode last night where they did a '75 C3 and despite some things all of us would jump up and point to I thought it was kind of fun. Rather see that than another 100K+ build in a multimillion dollar shop that I will never ever see the inside of unless I have a tool bag on my shoulder and I'm there on a service call for something not car related.
And if Heather Storm would like to stop by and just replace the door panels on my '69 well, that would be OK by me too ....

Right on brother. Rather watchum work on a 60's 'merican car than some foreign job. Heather, well, she can do what she wants...have a great weekend
I don’t usually watch that show but I watched it this time since they were working on a Corvette. It was entertaining. As someone else mentioned another forum member was on the show last year with his modified C2. Maybe someone smarter than me can provide the link to his thread about the experience. As you can imagine there is a lot of embellishment but all in all it seemed like a good experience.
A perfect example of trying to get by with purchasing a low cost radiator that almost fits. All in all a good show this time. T
Yeah, I know that part of the show was real because I went through the same thing with a locally purchased low cost radiator (from a a radiator shop) back when I was restoring a '73. Of course, they didn't do like I did and get a DeWitt radiator instead. They apparently just "made it fit."
It is a good show, they should make an episode on how they do it. I suspect they work on these cars around the clock to get them done in whatever time frame they have, guys tripping over each other is not very efficient. Probably more people working on them than we know. On Overhaulin they work 24/7 with a big crew to get show car results in a couple weeks. No waiting around for paint to cure there.

No doubt more to it than meets the eye. But I like the basic premise - garage/driveway not a shop I will never see. I looked at the '75 and saw the door peeling and a few other things but what the hell, the guy got his car and it gave me something relaxing to do for an hour. I've always wondered what some of these vehicles we see on all these shows look like a year or two down the road. My wife is an HGTV junkie and I wonder the same thing - looks nice all staged but how does it hold up to the real world ?

I've always wondered how many people on those shows actually flip and sell the vehicle/home shortly after the show. Especially those high-end Overhaulin builds.
