Default paint for rally wheels

I was just wondering what the stock rally wheels might look like painted flat or satin black rather than the factory gray/silver. I'd still use the center caps and beauty rings. This forum has a broad reach and chances are this is hardly a new idea.
By any chance has someone done that and do you have a photo?

Google it. There's a bunch of rally rims painted different colors on the web.

Flat or semi-flat (satin) black paint on the rally wheels would look odd unless that was the same paint used on the body of the car. I would think that semi-gloss would be better for the wheels. But, that is a personal preference and you are the owner. Maybe someone else has already done the satin black wheels and can post a photo to give you a better idea of how it would look.

Keep them silver. Black looks odd.....many can be seen at any good sized car show.

Argent or the same paint used on the body also looks good.

I painted mine on my 68 SS396 Chevelle Ash Gold to match the body back then. I don't remember if I change it back to the silver or not.

I believe Argent silver was original

It would probably look like crap, but I hate black wheels.

Argent silver or body color match would be my suggestion.
I had a blue Duster in the 70's and painted the Mopar silver rally wheels blue to match.
It looked good and something different.
They would not have looked very good black

I just painted the back side of my rally wheels black. I’ll paint the front sides argent silver when the rain stops.

Painting rallyes black was popular in the 70s and 80s, cant say it looks bad. Getting the stance (dropping it a bit) looks even better if you decide to.
Good thing is if you tire of it a quick rattle can job fixes it.

Silver or the body color is the only way to go. And I'm not sure the body color would even look all that good on a vette. Old Nova, Camaro, Duster, etc... yes. Vette...meh.

I think outside the box,
There is no "only" when personlizing ones car

I never liked the green hue silver of rally wheels made me feel like i had some old spare tire wheels from a truck, dressed up with the rings and hats, no amount of "polish" made me like them much,

However,

I went on a Google hunt,
I like the black rallys with contrasting rings and hats
like in the last pic, looks sweet!
