About all of the reproduction switches are what they are. There is way to get it apart and clean it and inspect it and use it due to the quality of the originals is much better than the stuff today.
IF you had to get switch I would get it from WIllcox Corvette.
Thank you DUB. I tried a set of replacement stock switches from a preferred vendor already and they stopped working after 5mnths. I ended up cleaning the originals, these worked for a yr or so. I'm never buy another set of stock ones again.
I'm concerning these thou, just not sure how to wire them since these are 5 plug and the stock one at 3 plug.
Below is what a DORMAN power window switch looks like. Which it looks correct on the top side...but it is INCORRECT for your year model due to it being a 5 pin design.
Yes, the existing stock window switch is 3 pin/wire and the uxcell are 5pin. This is where I'm not sure how to wire the uxcell 5pin switch to the existing 3 wire.
The original wiring having ALL the power run through the switch itself was a bad design- but was probably used because it was inexpensive.
The replacement switches have no where near the current capacity of the OEM switches-I'd recommend rewiring the power windows with relays- to take the load off the power window switch-
Right side -the relays have been added- left side is OEM wiring
i used replacements at the beginning, same lasted only about a year before the contacts burnt up/off.
i cleaned up the originals and mounted some relays under the arm rest, that way the current is handled by them.
hasn't missed a beat in over 5yrs now.
Also, the aftermarket switch pin board will separate from the chrome housing. The OEM housing had bent tabs to keep the board intact while the aftermarket housing was just pinched allowing the pin board to come apart. I took the aftermarket switches back out and used a dremel to cut and bend tabs like the OEM with some epoxy to hold it in place. So far it seems to be working. I don't use my switches that often.
I agree with Richard's recommendation of taking the draw off the new switches and installing relays. I used a totally different window switch (which needed relays for an entirely different reason) and you can sneak all 4 relays into the park-brake console using the metal reinforcement bracket to mount to. Just make sure the wires are kept out of the way of the park-brake lever
