Default Seat removal issue

The passenger seat in my 69 won't slide forward.

Anyone know how I can remove the seat, without access to the bolts?

Trying t pull them out and send them off to be recovered.

Not sure that it's possible to remove without moving the seat at least partially forward

Get the longest straw you can (even tape a couple of drinking straws together) stuff some towels under the seat and outside both tracks and spray a bunch of PB or liquid wrench or what-have-you down the tracks form the front and then pull the towels out after a few minutes to soak up as much overspray as you can. Make sure the latch is letting go of the track and slowly work the seat forward without prying on the plastic back, maybe you can remove that panel so it doesn't get broken.

Just an idea

I'm no expert on 69 Vettes, but can you access the bolt shafts from under the car? If you don't mind ruining the bolts, perhaps you cut them flat, and notch them for a flathead screwdriver, then unscrew them by screwing in from the outside. Try some Kano Kroil on them first (smells much better than PB Blaster and works just as well).

As stated above, spray the sliders and slowly work the seat back and forth until it goes it's full travel. The seat will go far enough in both directions to easily access the bolts using a socket with an extension. Sometimes if the seats have not been moved in while, the slider will bind. Also make sure the carpet doesn't get smushed up in the sliders with loose strands.

I had a hard time sliding my drivers seat forward too. Get a medium size pry bar and CAREFULLY pry the seat forward from the back while the adjustment **** is slid over.

Sit yourself in that seat, hold the release **** in 'release' position, and use your heels and body weight to quickly move it forward. Do that as forcefully as possible...without hurting yourself.

If that won't slide it forward, it's frozen in place and you may have to cut on 'stuff' to free it from the floor. You can also try pushing it backward, then forward with the same technique in hopes that any corrosion might loosen a bit. I assume that you have squirted the slides, etc with penetrating oil already.

This sounds like a good idea, but I`m not sure the bolts would go up high enough without hitting the upper rail.

Im not sure if this is helpfull,but...if you are going to redo the seats ( covers/foam) can you just cut all the vinyl/leather/foam) away and get to the rear bolts?

Apparently not. I have removed the seat base cover and foam and still no luck. Going at it again tomorrow as the honeydo list is reasonably caught up.

Finally got it done.

Removed the cover, foam AND springs. Then used a 2 pound sledge to beat the frame forward.

It worked and I have no damage to the frame.

Now to fix the water leaks so it doesn't rust again.
