Anybody here ever had this problem? I just replaced the weatherstrip on my t tops , and they squeak all the time, It;s not the hardware, it's the weatherstrip. I tried spraying silicone on the crossbar but they still do it. Any ideas? Thanks
Brian, I think MelWff has nailed it. Try tightening your tops a little bit.
Also, when it comes to lubing the weatherstripping, I've had great success with this. It's available at most parts stores and hardware stores. Give it a try.

Sorry, for some reason pics won't load this morning
The product is 303 Protectant
are you sure the tops are tight, the rubber should compress when they are closed. Are you aware of the shims in addition to the adjustable latches?
Yeah, they're compressed alright. I even hose tested them after I changed the strip and no leaks whatsoever. I even aimed the hose at weird angles (upside down and sideways etc) and still no leaks. On the adjustable quick release latches, I have them so tight I can barely release them
OK, sounds like tightening is not your problem.
I chased a T top squeak for a while and finally found out one of the tiny, plastic triangle insulators was missing. This fits in the rear of the top and engages the triangle shaped bolt on the B pillar. Sorry, only pic I have is of a beat up one, but you get the idea.
After installing new weatherstripping on my tops I found they squeaked pretty badly. Really annoying. I found it was the two prongs on the inside or center edge of the t-tops that slide into the two openings in the center t-bar. With the thicker weatherstrip it held them out slightly further and caused them to squeak. You can test for this by wrapping a piece of electrical tape on each prong then install the top and go for a ride. If that fixes it you will then have to adjust your tops inwards towards the center of the car slightly to tighten up the fit there.
