Hey everyone, i picked up my 1976 last year and have very slowly been working to get it back running. In reviewing all the things I got along with the car I see that I have two carbs. One is installed and the other was in a box. Any insite to what I have would be helpful!
...How do you find out which carb should have been stock on my car?...
The Corvette Black Book lists carburetors. For 76, the 17056206 was for base engine cars with AT. 17056226 is listed for the L-82 with AT and factory air. Your 9226 is not listed for Corvettes.

Carb number 17056206 is a 1976 Corvette and Nova carb, Federal emissions, with auto trans. This is an 800 cfm carb, and is a great Vette carb.
Carb number 17059226 is a 1979 Chevy and GMC truck carb for a 400 with air and auto trans.

Hey Lars,
I was hoping you’d chim in on this one! So the correct carb is currently not installed on my car. Is there anything I should check before swapping them out so I have the correct one on there?

Yes - you need to completely rebuild, repair and set up the old carb before attempting to just bolt it on and run it. It was removed for a reason. That reason is usually that somebody forked it up.
