If I can get the photos to upload it is the wire that runs down the hood on my 75 convertible. Also I purchased a book for help and restoration but turns out about all it does is tell you where paint dobs
go. Can you recommend a good book that covers restoration as far as showing wiring diagrams rebuilding components and such? Thanks
The Shop Manual, Assembly Instruction Manual, and Owners Manual for your specific year are must-have items for any C3 owner. Most of the vendors carry them. In a pinch, you can find them from RockAuto after searching for your car year, under "Literature".
well I haven't had a lot of free time since I purchased this car to look into some things as much as I would like. I was wondering if it had a cowl induction selenoid when I saw the wire. That's where I will need a good manual because the next question naturally is how do I tell if it's working properly or not.

Thanks for the recommendations on the books. I need to do an AC rebuilt so I have to be able to tell which parts I need to make sure I have it set up right and it's going to take a good manual to do that.
Thanks for the link. I was not aware of this whole setup including a switch under the gas pedal. According to that link it also controls transmission kickdown. I do get kick down at low speed but around 60 miles an hour if I push it to the floor there is no kickdown. That could be the cause of my problem that this solenoid switch is either bad or needs adjusted.
Today I confirmed with the wire plugged in that my Cowl induction flapper does work. I had no kickdown and now I do. When I got the car out to test it the first couple times there was still no kickdown but then all of a sudden it began to work and pulls right up to Red Line and then shifts hard. Makes it feel fun on a car with no power LOL.
