I've seen a couple of cars with what looks like just an off-the-shelf heim joint running from the block or head directly to a driver's side, top mounted alternator.
Are people just buying the right heim joint and rod and mocking these things up or are these an official alternator bracket somebody sells?
I love the look and hate the huge heavy, ugly stock bracket.
I'm also interested in bracket options for stock location power steering pumps (that thing is hokey and having to attach to the motor mount is odd).
Aw,the factory never does anything hokey, they are flawless perfect
The heims,i have been doing it to many cars for 30 plus years, if there is a kit its likely more than i would pay so i get heims at surplus stores years back or fleabay nowdays,
I saw online a couple power steering bracket kits but i have no clue if they will fit corvettes,
My solution is i will likely just ditch my ps, but i have a bb making brackets a bit harder to find , i know thats not what you want....
Yes, they do have them aftermarket. Most places are pretty proud of there pieces.
Soo, I made my own.
How does that even work? You have two pivot points, unless you notched where it attaches such that the custom holey piece is fixed solid to the alternator.
Looks pretty cool! But my mind is in a pretzel...
Edit: I see now, after clicking on Rescue Rogers' link. The added part extends a bit beyond the ear on the alternator, and keeps tension on the body, making it rigid. Nifty!

I just put on a Borgeson high volume pump with an 400L Alan Grove Components PS bracket. The bracket is 1/4" steel and replaces the flimsy factory bracket. Not chrome but extremely functional.
