I just looked at a 1977 C3 Corvette it needs painted it needs a lot of work Here There and Everywhere the guy said it ran and they pulled it up on the trailer when he bought it but the starter was messed up and I couldn't hear it run it's a 350 engine 4 speed transmission it really looks like there's different parts of different Corvette put on it I'm kind of skeptical about it but he only wants 2,000 dollars for it. Just looking for some advice
If only there were some kind of technology that would let thousands of people on the internet see something as if they were there, instead of relying on thousands of words to describe it. Perhaps someone will invent a device to do this someday.
Without pictures, it's tough to say, but figure up to $10K for a paint job, unless you do it yourself. At that point, it's probably not worth it for an automatic.
A 4-speed for $2K? Clear title? That would be tough to resist. I paid more for mine, which needed a complete interior restoration (and a bunch of other stuff), but at least the paint was acceptable. If you can drive it as is, you can have a lot of fun with it. I'd make sure it starts first, though, even if you have to swap out the starter first.
