Headlights pop up when I start the car on my 71 Corvette, my question is if i disconnect the vacuum going inside the vehicle are the headlights still supposed to pop up without touching headlight switch. Just trying to isolate the system so make it easier to diagnose.

If I understand your question correctly, YES, your headlights will rise if you disconnect your command side (smaller hose going into cabin). Headlights are designed to fail in the open position.
Vacuum problems are easy to diagnose and fix, but you will need a Mity-Vac so save yourself a lot of headaches and just go buy one right up front. They cost about $35.

Yes that was the question thanks for answering that,so there should be a way where I could block off the vacuum and have the headlights go down, because that's how the headlight doors function with vacuum or no vacuum right? I just want to rule everything out in the engine compartment.
