Came across a few decent parts for my 77 today. Found this timer for the interior lights.
Anyway of bench testing it to see if it works? Philips part 461294 6323 It's still attached to the original harness.
That single black wire coming off it went to the ground screw. Thank you.
Here is the drawing for that circuit, hope it helps. To bypass the timer relay, simply disconnect both connectors marked C121 on the drawing. Reconnect the M/F plugs (solid white wires) from the main harness. If you find the relay is bad I think Willcox makes a direct electronic replacement if a timed courtesy circuit is what you want.
Thank you for that diagram. With it I tested it and it's not functioning. Opened it up, cleaned the contacts but no luck.
I could solder in a new part if I knew what to replace it with. That black part says GI, under that 7509. Thank you.
Here's what I used- I also added and off switch so when I'm working on it- they stay off.
Plus converted the interior lights to LED...now I don't get burned by the incandescent bulb while reaching under the dash!!!
Thanks for the info, Richard. I just purchased one which will be used to turn my garage light on when the opener is activated. I installed a side-mount opener with door going to the ceiling when I acquired the 4-post lift. It didn't come with any provision for turning on the light.
