whats with the automatic transmission shifter on the 1982 , 2.3 drive is it meaant to shift manually ? It always sounds like my car is in overdrive when left in drive position rpm very low.

When in town drive in 3 instead of D. She won't be hunting for gears then. That's the then, new 700R4 transmission performing as designed. All in all a great transmission mated to the crossfire.
