Default Help Identifying this part

Hello everyone
New C3 owner here and very proud of the 77 that I just bought. Its bone stock original down to the radio. The car has its issues but is a solid start and once I rebuild the brakes, get the heat and air working and figure out a way to make it a little more waterproof I'll have a great car. One question I have concerns this component that is just sitting on top of the intake on the drivers side of the engine. I think it may be the cruise control but I'm not certain. I cant seem to find anything that matches it so I turn to the experts. Can someone please help identifying this part?

mystery part?

what carb do you have? it looks like the cable is cut off. There is a special bracket where the plastic clip attaches to.
Its a special engine lift bracket with a cutout for the cable assembly to slip through.
