Yea, my son drove my 76 and said he thought it was quite peppy. I told him if he'd driven a 68-72 he'd think differently. The 76 does pull nicely but is not in the same league as the earlier high compression versions. I think there'll always be interest in all the C3 body styles but the 68 to 72 will always go up in value more than the later ones. I do say, I've seen some good prices on some of the earlier ones recently though. A few years ago I'd have been on these but I'm broke after building my 24X30 garage with a 2 poster. I am satisfied with my Orange Flame 76!

I havent seen this "flood" of totaled 68 to 72s saturating the market.

I have consided the lower hp of later c3s as a reason but i dont really believe higher hp of 68 to 72s is the reason they are more popular, any c3 can be hopped up and i really do not recall many or any threads where someone here is happy with 190hp so people do hop them up,
Grinding on it i really believe the styling change in 74 hurt c3s badly

cant help but wonder if the owners are getting too old, dying off etc has something to do with it. Most enthusiasts btdt...may appreciate the cars but not wanna pay the inflated prices that TV has put out there over the years. Dont see a whole lot of young people wanting these....which is good, maybe I can pick up one cheap someday!
Gotta admit the whole old car thing $$ has reallly gotten out of hand over the years.

Blame aging blame the internet blame the simple fact to quote smitty, " everything changes, nothing stays the same"
Supply , demand, desire, means,
Actually c3s are still kind of a bargain compaired to just about any other 68 to 70s sports type personal cars, yeah the prices are nuts,
Young people have a lot pushed at them, when i became a car crafter in my late teens i scored cars like my friends did,
Models anout 10 to 15 years old, we werent scoring flat heads or lead sleds,
And todays young car crafters do the same but are hopping up mostly imports, they dont seem to care much for the 90s gm or ford sports offerings,
I saw a trendy hip young cat the other day hoped in a miata,
It had a few trick mods and blems, he had to tweak something behind the seat to get it to start, but thats todays gearhead to him my 69 would likely be about like a sled would have been to me almost 4 decades back.
Hum, he must at a car parts store his cars always there ill ask him one day what he thinks of c3s....
