Default Peculiar leaks...

Ok, so this morning I go to fire up my corvette, nothing new ( I try to drive it 5 days a week or so) and as I pull it out of my garage, I notice it's leaking both tranny fluid, and rear diff fluid. A little ring of rear diff fluid, and a small (like bout the size of a credit car) puddle of tranny fluid. I clean it up, put cardboard underneath, and get ready to call my mechanic first thing tomorrow, fearing the worst. I get home from work, and check underneath... and its bone dry! Any idea why that might be? I expected it to drip some, unless the pan just overfilled... but that doesn't explain the diff. I'm thinking it's a gasket/seal in the transmission, and probably a ring or seal in the diff.

It may be just a slow ooze. Might take multiple trips to ooze enough to drip. Possibly wiping it off every month or so may save you some repair bills.

Or it is blowing back and it is only transmission fluid that is leaking. AND you did not state if you have a manual or automatic so there is no way in knowing what these fluids look like.

Sorry! It’s an auto. Red fluid in the front, black fluid in the rear.

Is the black fluid thick??? or is it thin like the automatic transmission fluid???

Knowing that automatic transmission has a lot of detergent in it...it can get blown back onto parts and emulsify anything on it and make it drip a different color. Much like a degreaser would....so-to-speak.

Depending on where you can see the drip coming from on your transmission it can only be a few things. Pan gasket, seal for your speedometer cable, tail shaft seal, dipstick tube seal , shifter rod seal and front pump seal.. The chances it is coming out of the vent is unlikely and the modulator valve can leak but usually when it goes bad the engine sucks up the ATF. I have not seen the cover for the governor leak but anything is possible I guess. YES...the transmission cooler lines can weep fluid also if they are loose.

It was thin, so it could’ve very well been the fluid blowing back.
The transmission fluid up front was dripping near the front of the transmission. I’ll crawl undernearth later and point out where. I checked this morning, and again, it was dry on both ends.
